I am a huge fan of PG Wodehouse and Jeeves and Bertie and the rest of the gang, and I'm also a huge Sebastian Faulks fan, so when I heard that I could get the whole lot bunged together in one book, I was thrilled.
Now, you can't go into a reading of such a novel with the idea that you're going to get a carbon copy of the original. But, by Jeeves, Faulks nearly does it. Some reviewers have said that Faulks sort of overdoes it (and I'm pretty sure some die-hards hated it) but I reckon if you didn't know it wasn't PG Wodehouse, you might not notice anything amiss.
At any rate, I loved it, and it actually moved me a little to read a brand new Jeeves after all this time.
PS: One of the best reviews I read was The Guardian's - you can read it here.
