What I have just finished reading

Words with Wings
by Nikki Grimes

Plot: Gabby deals with her parents' divorce and starting at a new school by getting lost within her vivid imagination.

What I think: It's written beautifully in verse, capturing how Gabby sees the world with the help of an amazing teacher. I had a teacher like that.

Why you should read it: Books written in verse are not for everyone. But this one is. If you're new to this style of writing, this books is a great starting point.

Extra bit: Some words / sit still on the page/ holding a story steady / ...  / But other words have wings / that wake my daydreams
