Is 671 words too long for an 'About Me' on a blog? My intention was to precis what I thought was important in about 250 words. You'd think as a former editor, I'd be able to cut back even my own work quickly and easily, and I was able to. Cut back from 1264 words, that is...
I had jotted down only a few points that I wanted to include in my 'About Me', but when it came to putting this in writing, I had a tough time. It's not that I'm all that interesting, but I'd like the few poor souls who read my blog to get an idea about who I am - as well, of course, as give potential agents (salute!) more information about Philippa Cameron than my one-page query letter allows for. (Did manage to get quite a bit in my one-paragraph bio, though...) Still worried, because even the Guinea pigs get a mention. TMI?
But I'm leaving it at 671 words (and counting...) I have changed the page heading to 'All About Me' to give readers a hint on what's to come.
Sidebar: I know, I need an author pic. That will be the subject of another post. Or at least, the one after the next one. I hate having my photo taken. Hate.
